Uncle Dick's Bead Slip Review

One of the worst things to do as far as maintenace has to be mounting tires. I have done it with 3.0" Nokian and 1.9" Maxxis XC tires. Either way it is a drag and doing it with the newer tubelss tires can make it even harder especially if using a steel bead DH tire. Moto guys have for years been using soapy water to mount MX tires and in the last 4-5 years the MTB community has caught on.

"Back in the middle 1990's while living in Chicago I started a 10 year ride with SRAM Corporation another 6 years in Wisconsin working for Hayes followed. I learned a lot from both companies and traveled the globe extensively, all for bikes.

These days, I'm back in the bike shop fixing bikes and working with customers. I'm a service manager which means I change a lot of tires. From old vintage beadless Schwinns to new school Shimano tubeless road technology and everything in between. Bead Slip is brought to us by long time bike industry personality Rich Travis. All his years in the industry he has noticed that a task done multiple times daily by nummerous mechanics adds up to alot of shop hours doing one task per year. With this in mind Rich set out to make it easier for the bike shop or home mechanic to mount tires and created the soap based bead/rim lube. 

The first thing we noticed about Uncle Dicks was the large size it came in. We have mounted a number of tires with it in the last few months. The lubricant really helps to get heavy duty beads onto tubeless rims and dried very fast. We rarely had to wipe off any excess.  

This product does as it claims. Saves the person mounting tires time and money. It makes it a much faster job and one that can be done with bare hands for almost all applications. Being made in the USA is another benefit of the Uncle Dick's Bead Slip. We would suggest offering a smaller tube with a sponge mounted tip for a more protable version of the product if possible.

We would highly suggest this product and we seemingly have enough to last us years!
