YT Announces The Decoy E-Bike Line

Forchheim, Germany: With the DECOY bike manufacturer YT Industries brings their first E - MTB to the market and pro ves that the brand can also build toys with batteries that own the steeze. With an iconic design, innovative technologies and an unbeatable performance on the trail , YT interprets the E - MTB topic in its very own way and guarantees customers even more fun while riding.

Three models of the DECOY can be pre - ordered from today on via the webshop www.yt - industries.com . T he fir st batch will be available mid of M ay. An E - MTB from YT? Seriously? Those don’t g o together. Forget about it! Whoever thinks that E - MTBs are for old or lazy people has really missed the boat. Until now! The drop of the brand new DECOY will be a wake up call even for the hardest doubters, will demonstrate the mountainbike world what's possible with an E - MTB and that they are incredibly fun to ride. And for that reason alone they are a perfect fit for YT.

“ It's like downhill with a built - in shuttle" The DECOY opens up a new world of mountain biking. It lets you go further and discover new trails that you would never have ridden before, and it also lets you really make the most of your time on the bike – all of which means more fun. With the DECOY you will mast er climbs that you have never even attempted with another mountain bike, promised!

It's a YT: downhill - genes uncaged An E - MTB from YT must first and foremost be able to prove itself worthy of its downhill genes. That's why, just like on all bikes, YT relies on their proven and award - winning V4L (Virtual 4 Link) rear suspension linkage t hat literally sticks your bike to the ground, but still has enough pop to launch off every root and enjoy the airtime. The 165 mm of rear travel combined with our new - school geometry creates a trail weapon with extra power, the likes of which you have neve r seen before. Additionally, YT have minimized the pedal kick - back to avoid any negative influences on the suspension action.

New - School - Geometr y unites ergonomics and performance The geometry of the DECOY delivers consistent performance on long rides and on every trail, whether uphill, downhill, technical or steep. The steep seat tube angle and the long chainstays ensure awesome climbing performance while the slack head angle settl es the bike’s handling and gives you a feeling of control when things get steep and fast. The dynamic reach balances the bike perfectly and makes sure the overall length is kept in check. As a result, the center of gravity is deep and leaves you feeling li ke you’re sitting in the bike, with a perfect mix of stability and agility at your disposal. The Flip Chip lets you adjust the BB height as well as the head tube and seat tube angles to adapt the geometry to your preferences and your type of terrain.

YT Decoy Geometry

Technical features: creative solutions The 540 Wh battery of the DECOY is YTs own development. For dependable performance and long lasting power, it comes with thirty battery cells of the very latest technology – in fact the very same type of cells that Tesla features in their cars. The battery is fully integrated in the downtube, held in place by two dedicated bolts and can be charged both on and off the bike. Powering the 250 watts Shimano STEPS E8000 engine the DECOY masters even the steepest trails. The eng ine runs silent, is one of the lightest engines on the market (2.8 kg) and, thanks to its slim design, is ideally integrated into the frame. The lightweight and compact Shimano STEPS E7000 display lets you choose between three support modes and achieve a r ange of about 100 km (Eco) with the DECOY. As usual, YT also put a lot of love into the details that really make the difference. Technical features such as internal cable routing, double - sealed bearings and integrated frame protection not only emphasize th e high quality standards of the brand, but also simplify the handling and maintenance of the bike and extend the lifetime of the DECOY.

29” & 27,5”: Best of both wheels Just like on a motocross, the DECOY makes use of two different wheelsizes on the same bike – the best of two worlds. The 27.5” rear wheel is fitted with a 2.8” tire that can be run with lower pressure without becoming unstable, which creates a larger contact patch that in re turn generates massive grip. Up front, the 29” wheel with its 2.4” tire is sharp and direct enough to let you carve through every turn with precision.

Progressive design Design plays an important role in the development of new models at YT. Just look at the DECOY: With the E - Enduro you can join any group of mountain bikers without sticking out like a sore thumb. It just looks damn good! The design language is progressive, clean and expresses perfectly both the technological competence and the high quality standards of the brand. From the integrated recharg eable battery to the volume - matched tube sets, the compact display and the material and color design: The DECOY bears the distinctive signature of the YT designers, both inside and out, and thus blends in optically with the existing YT range.

DECOY range Three built kits of the DECOY are available, each in five frame sizes from S to XXL. Every model is equipped with YTs custom 540 Wh battery, Shimano's STEPS E8000 engine and E7000 display.

CF Pro Race At the very top of the range, the DECOY CF Pro Race is the right choice if you are looking for a lightweight E - MTB with high - end components, and maximum adjustability. The FOX 36 Float Factory 29” E - Bike+ fork featuring 160 mm of travel and the FOX Float X2 Factory are Kashima - coated and offer first - class d amping, control, and adjustability. The electronic XT Di2 transmission provides lightning quick and precise shifting across the 11 gears of the e*thirteen TRS Plus cassette. The lightweight e*spec Race carbon wheels keep the weight down while ensuring stab ility, traction and security at the same time thanks to the 29”/27.5” size combo. SRAM’s powerful Code RSC brakes have been paired up with 200 mm Centerline rotors to guarantee the best possible braking performance, while the seamlessly adjustable FOX Tran sfer Factory dropper post and Renthal’s 800 mm wide Fatbar 35 handlebar round out this top - shelf build in style.

CF Pro The DECOY CF Pro is equipped with the high - performance FOX 36 Float Performance Elite 29“ E - Bike+ fork with 160 mm of travel as well as the FOX Float DPX2 Performance Elite shock. The Shimano XT transmission ensures precise shifting across the wide - range, 9 - 46T TRS Plus cassette from e*thirteen, while SRAM’s Code RS brakes provide reliable stopping power in any situation. E*thirteen‘s e*s pec Plus wheels deliver speed, stability, traction and security at the same time thanks to the 29”/27.5” size combo. The SDG Tellis dropper post and the 800 mm Renthal Fatbar 35 complete the build of the CF Pro and make it the right choice for those who ar e looking for an E - MTB with a high - performance motor as well as high - end components, but who prefer mechanical shifting.

CF Base The DECOY CF Base marks the entry into the YT E - MTB category. Featuring a carbon main triangle with an aluminum rear end, the CF Base comes equipped with the RockShox Yari RC 29” DebonAir E - MTB fork with 160 mm of travel and the RockShox Deluxe R shock. Th e XT transmission from Shimano ensures precise shifting, while the SRAM Code R brakes with their 200 mm Centerline rotors can always be counted on to slow you down when you need to. Up front, the DT SWISS HI900 SPLINE wheels in 29” size bring speed and sta bility, while the 27.5” Plus version out back provides extra traction and security. The SDG Tellis dropper post and the 800 mm Race Face Aeffect R 35 handlebar complete the DECOY CF Base build.

YT Announces New Branding And The 2018 Bike Range

Brand Relanuch

The new YT logo, ‘Live Uncaged’ strapline and documentary are unveiled today on www.yt-industries.com  and the campaign microsite www.findyouryoungtalent.com. The evolved branding

and strapline unite the old and the new, YT’s youthful energy, badass confidence, and agelessness to reflect the true core of their brand.
What Is Young Talent? Young Talent is what YT stands for. It’s inside us all. It’s up to each of us to find our young and undiscovered talent, to overcome conventions and pursue our dreams. This is exactly what CEO Markus Flossmann did, when he founded YT 10 years ago. YT has stayed true to that founding ideal and has always done things their own way. From selling direct and ditching the middle man to redefining the sport itself with bike breeds like the CAPRA, smashing the trail bike scene with the rule-breaking JEFFSY and writing history with Aaron Gwin dominating the World Cup on their downhill weapon TUES.

“Over the last decade I’ve realized that Young Talent has nothing to do with age,” explains Markus.

“It’s never too late to explore your young talent. It’s never too late to try something new and find your passion.”

It’s this way of life that utterly defines YT and their bikes. YT is about riding. It’s about refusing to be caged. It’s about finding your passion. It’s about building the perfect tool for every kind of rider, in order to allow them unleash their own potential – bikes that let everyone do whatever they want. “And today, years later, we’re still exploring our young talents, overcoming age and conventions. All so you can uncage yours too.” You are confined only by the bars you build yourself.
YT - Live Uncaged

2018 YT Bike Range

The new YT fleet is available now on www.yt-industries.com. Brand new specifications, high quality designs and the return of the DIRT LOVE make for an exciting start to the new season.  JEFFSY 27 and 29, TUES and DIRT LOVE are once again available in the exclusive flagship paintjob “Liquid Metal” and will certainly turn some heads out on trails and parks. In line with their philosophy of providing the right tool for every type of rider, there are plenty of builds available: from more affordable entry-level machines to exclusive premium race rigs, boasting a focus on maximum performance.

Eleven +

And true to their core YT again push boundaries with the component selection. Always looking for more from their components YT has defined Eleven+ as THE DRIVE OF 2018 for their JEFFSY fleet. They exclusively use the new 1x11 e*thirteen TRS+ Cassette with a 511% gear range, outperforming traditional 12-speed transmissions by 11%. This 11speed system is not only lighter, but also distinctly more durable and much easier to adjust, making it the perfect package for at least 11% more #GoodTimes out on the trails.

Jeffsy 27 and 29

Whether you prefer 27,5” or 29” wheels – the JEFFSY represents YT’s very own definition of trail riding. With gravity DNA, JEFFSY is the most aggressive all-mountain bike on the market for all those of you, who want to ride a tad faster, more aggressive and more creative.

The flagship JEFFSY CF Pro Race is a bike ready to race. Every aspect is tuned for uncompromising performance. It's a premium ride with only the very best components: Kashima-coated FOX Factory suspension and FOX Transfer dropper post, SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes, Renthal cockpit and the e*thirteen TRS+ race-proven wheels and cranks to name but a few.

The JEFFSY CF Pro is equipped with equally careful selected premium components, such as the FOX Float Performance Elite suspension - offering excellent responsiveness and racing-level adjustability.
The JEFFSY CF and AL Comp models boast a Rock Shox suspension with perfect performance and easy adjustment settings. The JEFFSY AL marks the starting point for serious trail riding. Naturally, it's tailored to the needs of the ambitious entry-level rider. However, sophisticated geometry and a well thought-out, high-value parts spec are raising the performance bar in this segment making this version an enticing option for experienced riders, too.

YT TUES

The TUES is capable of anything. Set it against the clock and, as Aaron Gwin has been proving since 2016, it can dominate World Cup racing. Point it down the craziest slopes of the Rampage or the FEST series, on the other hand, and it's the tool for un-rideable lines, colossal jumps and loose whips.

The TUES CF Pro Race version is for all those, who would like to have a bit of World Cup taste in their garage. For the 2018 model YT is using exactly the same build Aaron Gwin is racing in the World Cup. The premium suspension package consists of the Kashima coated FOX 40 FLOAT Factory fork and the FOX FLOAT X2 Factory shock. With the EVOL air spring technology featured in the fork in 2018 this package truly delivers World Cup pedigree. YT furthermore specs the TRP G-Spec Quadiem brake, one of the most powerful and reliable brakes on the market. A Renthal cockpit, the e*thirteen cassette with just 180 grams and a 233% range as well as the e*thirteen LG1r Race – an incredibly light yet extremely robust downhill race crank – complete the package.

The TUES CF boats FOX 40 and FOX Float X2 suspension, with the fork also featuring the EVOL air spring technology. The new SRAM Code RS brakes have been given a complete overhaul for 2018. They combine impressive braking power with excellent modulation, and offer both bite point and reach adjustment for the levers with fade-free performance even on the longest, steepest runs. Young Talents galore: a YT must be competitive and thanks to their roots, YT understand this applies to an entry-level build as much as any other. The TUES AL ticks this box with ease. Performance comes as standard with excellent geometry and outstanding component selection. A hell of a machine, the TUES AL offers a flying start in the downhill game.

The roots of YT can be found in dirt jumping, which is why a lot of development work has flown into the DIRT LOVE and that's how technology usually only found in aluminum frames has crossed over to revolutionize the DIRT LOVE’s steel: hydroforming. Yet again YT prove they don’t do things like the mainstream. While other brands have moved to building dirt frame out of aluminium, YT keep to the steel roots for dirt frame, as the material offers more flex, while at the same time the hydroformed, double-butted CrMo frame is stronger, stiffer, and lighter than comparable steel frames. The Pike DJ used for the build is the designated fork for all this progression. The hardnut brother of the award-winning Pike features a sturdy 35mm chassis, yet is both light and stiff. A custom-tuned charger damper shines on any type of jump, and the similarly jump-honed Solo Air spring offers significant end-stroke ramp-up for buttery smooth landings. SRAM Level TL brakes are feather-light heavyweights that inherit well-proven tech of SRAM’s Guide trail brakes, while super strong DT Swiss 533D wheels are built to expect the odd over-rotated trick and dirty landing.

YT USA Announces A Change Of Business Structure

We are pleased to announce a structural change in the distribution strategy of YT in the USA. Instead of going through a service and distribution partner, our subsidiary YT Industries USA Inc. will be running the US business as of the 1st Dec, 2017.

This means we can now fully implement our European direct sales strategy in the USA, offering several advantages for US customers, such as more attractive pricing, improved service and increased availability of bikes.

The new Head Office of YT Industries USA Inc. is based in San Clemente, California.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Cam Zink for his support in running a service and distribution center in Reno for us over the last 3 years. Cam will remain with YT Industries as an athlete and continue to contribute to the business as part of the YT Family.

We are looking forward to delivering even more #GoodTimes to the USA.

NEKO MULALLY JOINS THE YT MOB

The YT Mob is excited to announce that 23 year old Neko Mulally of the USA will be joining Aaron Gwin and Angel Suarez to make up our 2017 line up. After a successful debut season taking the YT TUES to a historic World Cup debut, the team couldn’t be more thrilled about bringing in this talented young rider to tackle our 2nd race season.

Back in 2010 Neko made his first mark in the world of Downhill racing by finishing 2nd at the Junior World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, and then went on to make history in 2014 by finishing 4th at the Elite World Championships with his chainless run. He also made his first trip to the UCI World Cup podium that year by finishing 3rd at the Cairns World Cup, despite a crash!

Known as one of the friendliest and easy going riders in the pits, he’s a determined athlete on the bike and the team has every confidence that he will not only settle in perfectly with the team, but continue to build on the results already achieved in his career.

Neko said today: "The opportunity to ride for the YT Mob comes at an important junction in my career. The quality of the program has been proven and offers a dynamic where I have excelled in the past. On top of the excellent support, I'm thrilled to be surrounded by this group of people at the races. To ride alongside a teammate like Aaron in an environment that’s committed to success puts me in an ideal situation going forward."

Aaron says: "I'm really happy that we were able to sign Neko to the team this year, joining Angel and I. His work ethic, abilities on the bike, and overall positive attitude is exactly what we look for in a rider. We believe in him as he believes in himself and we'll work hard as a team to give him everything he needs to accomplish his goals of getting back to the top. It's going to be a fun year; the chainless destroyers are back together, watch out world!"

Team Owner Martin Whiteley says: “Of course it’s great to welcome Neko to the Mob, and in a way welcome him back home to the staff and support that worked alongside him for many years before. Neko was team mates with Aaron in 2011 and 2012 and learned a great deal during his time with him as Gwinny was racking up titles. I’m sure that he’ll welcome that opportunity again and enjoy mixing it up with Angel as well. Team chemistry is very important for us and this decision wasn’t taken lightly. Neko will be an excellent addition to the team.”

In addition to racing the World Cup and World Championships, the riders will compete in their respective National Championships, select Pro GRT and other events. Further images of the new race kits and bikes will be available in March.

Hi Neko. You are going to ride a TUES CF this year. How will your bike setup differ from Aaron’s and Angel’s?
I’ll run an XL frame, like Angel, to suit my long reach. My handlebars will be 20mm rise, lower than Aaron at 30mm and Angel at 40mm. I expect to run 170mm crank arms, and a 34t chain ring, which will give me a little extra leverage and less drag, but compromise from the clearance of a 165mm/ 32t set up like Aaron and Angel. I will have to put in the hours to decide whether the Coil or Air shock suits me better.

How would you describe your riding style?
I have always been focused on racing, so my style has been efficient and fast. Less flamboyant and more speed. Lately however, I have been pushing myself to learn new skills and ride harder lines that may not be faster in training. It keeps it exciting to look at a trail through a different lens sometimes.

Do you know your new team mates? Where did you meet first?
I have known Aaron for years as a teammate and fellow American rider. He's probably the guy who checks off the most boxes during his preparation and is a true professional. I can learn a lot from him. I met Angel 2 years ago, on the hot seat in Lenzerheide. I thought "who the hell is this Spanish kid that just beat my time!?" Since then I had the chance to get to know him at the races last season and I can't wait to spend more time together this year.

Who will be your mechanic? What is your brother gonna do in the next season?
This year I’ll be working with Ben Arnott, current Mob mechanic. Ben is an incredibly smart dude, a mechanical engineer with a ton of experience and a great rider too. I can't think of a better man for the job. My brother is pursuing his own goals at school and working as a shop manager this year. We had an awesome time traveling the world together these past two years and I hope we can do it again someday, but for now we are headed down our own paths.

Who else is going to sponsor you?
Personally I will continue with Oskar Blues Brewery, Bell Helmets, Royal Racing, Scott Goggles and Blue Sky Fuel. Oskar Blues is a local brewery just a few miles from my house who are involved in Mountain Biking at all levels. All of the employees ride and they are true fans of the sport.

Apparently, you are the only world cup rider with a beer company as a helmet sponsor. How does that go together?
Mountain bikers like to finish a great ride having a beer with their buddies. It's a fitting category to the demographic of our sport, and Oskar Blues takes pride in supporting cycling. They promote efforts to increase trail access and create events that truly benefit our sport. They are constantly stoked and a true pleasure to work with.

What are your goals for next season?
Ride inside the top 10
Push myself to new heights

Which races will you do?
UCI World Cup
UCI World Championships
Select Pro Gravity Tour Events
US National Championships

What’s going on at the moment?
Last month I transitioned from unstructured training to a dedicated schedule in preparation for the season ahead. This off season has kept me busy with a few projects I started along with moving into the house I spent the past year building. Together with some close friends I’ve built a year-round uplift access Bike Park in my region, and have organized a grassroots pre-season race series with 4 events in the southeast. Both have been really fun and a lot of work, and have been growing the sport hugely in my region. Now I'm all settled in and the projects are running smoothly, so training and racing are now my daily focus.

How is your training? Where do you usually train?
I like to train in the gym and on the XC bike during the week and ride downhill on the weekends. I am full time from now through to W/Cup round 1, and will maintain my fitness with a similar schedule between events this summer.

What does Good Times mean to you?
The feeling that you're stoked to be where you are. Usually on 2 wheels with good people for me.

What’s the difference between east coast and west coast riders?
East coast riders are tougher, we have to deal with all conditions haha :)

Who is your favorite riding buddy?
My brother Logan is the best person to ride with because his only goal on the bike is to have as much fun as possible!

What’s the most important thing in your life?
Waking up stoked to get out of bed and dive into the day ahead.

What makes you happy?
Being on the bike and feeling like you can do no wrong! Putting the tires exactly where you want them.

What makes you angry?
Being let down by my own mistakes.

If you could choose: With whom would you really like to party?
Stevie!

The best mountain biking video of all time?
Sam Hill’s race run at Val di Sole World Champs 2008

What are you doing when you are not riding?
Digging in the woods, or thinking about it!
