Let us walk you through how the Wreckoning got better’er…yet again.

Maybe what’s most exciting is the bike’s sheer mind-expanding spectrum of options—customization runs thick in the Wreckoning’s bloodstream. Want steep aggressive angles on a burly trail bike? Set the Flip Chip to the “LOW” position and run a 160mm fork. Looking for a do-everything, one-bike quiver? Go with a 170mm fork and the bike climbs as well as it descends on all terrain. Ready to channel your inner Aggy and throw a freeride rampage? Run a 190mm fork and double down with our stock RockShox Super Deluxe coil rear suspension. Evil engineering genius Dave Weagle also improved on the Wreckoning by borrowing the pedal-friendly pop of the Following and Offering, and then dialing it in with a legacy downhill heritage only he can lay claim to. To achieve a complementary climbing ability for this leg-powered DH bike, the leverage curve has been revised, starting with the high-end leverage to maintain that supple, smooth pedaling feel we all love so much. As the leverage decreases slowly through the mid stroke, it provides a ton of efficient support to push against while the end stroke sees the lowest leverage. What this means for you is a 166mm bike that feels like 200mm. An extra 5 millimetres never made such a difference.

The geometry can also be adjusted thanks to the Flip Chip, which drops the BB by 5 mm and results in a 0.5°-slacker head and seat tube angle. The playful YT feel is ensured thanks to an active, progressive suspension –YT’s first 4-bar suspension linkage by the way –and the relatively short chainstays that differ for sizes S to L (432 mm) and XL to XXL (437 mm). This progressive but not overly aggressive and well-balanced geometry, paired with a great kit, will ensure Good Times on backyard trails and long days in the saddle alike.

With that in mind, the IZZO has been developed and spec’d with lighter tires and rims and 130 mm travel to deliver the perfect performance balance for the trail category. Bolts below the top tube allow for fixing a utility belt to carry spares and tools to help you on the trailside. Custom to YT’s way of taking care of details, maintenance and servicing are simple, thanks to the ‘single sided hardware access’ enabling the suspension linkage and rear triangle hardware to be installed and removed from the same side. The ‘race-specific advanced sealing concept’ and ‘axial-lip-seal’ prolong the service life of the IZZO, thanks to additional seals that protect the double-sealed full complement bearings and keep water and dirt at bay.

The extra stability from the lengthened chainstays, 15 mm more squish out back and 20 mm more of rock-smashing forgiveness up front (adding up to 170 mm fork travel) combine to erase any bad decisions made in a former life. Additionally, its 63.7 degree head tube angle (compared to The Smash’s 64.7 degrees) gives riders additional control to process trail inputs and respond with the best path to enlightenment.
