Greg Minnaar - This Is Home

The schedule of one of the most successful downhill racers of all time doesn’t allow for much time to spend with family or friends, yet somehow – Greg Minnaar makes it work. This past winter, we paid him a visit in his hometown of Pietermaritzburg to film the latest episode of This is Home.

He immediately welcome us into his close circle of friends, family, and fans, giving us a glimpse of his life off the race circuit. Whether shooting a round of golf with his friends, going to his favourite coffee shop or having dinners with his family, it became easy to overlook his fame as the most successful downhill racer of all time. Greg was just another guy, with an immense amount of talent on two wheels, and a very close-knit community at his back.

THE SYNDICATE 2016 - Episode 2 - Cairns

After a week under misty skies and threatening clouds, the weather held and the World Cup in Cairns, Australia went off without turning into 2014's mudfest. The long, varied track tested all the riders, and deep local knowledge definitely lent an edge to the strong Aussie contingent, intent on good results in front of their hometown crowd. After both crashed in qualifying, Josh and Greg kept it upright throughout their race runs, but a little too much on the brakes cost them valuable time on the pedal-heavy track, with Greg finishing 17th and Josh 20th. Josh's strong result in Lourdes puts him in 7th in the overall ranking and Greg moved up to 18th.  With nearly a month until the circus rolls in to Ft. Bill, the boys will be rested and ready for Peaty's last run at his home race. Watch the second episode below, and scroll on for some exclusive photos!
